‘Neo-Pagan’ in this paper is essentially Gardnerian wicca with ‘Jungian’ distortions coming from the usual sources.
By giving priority to the psychic significance of symbols that have arisen from the collective unconscious, neo-paganism has attained a means of legitimating Pagan ritual outside of empirical history, while at the same time ensconcing itself within the framework of a coherent and relatively respectable psychological and epistemological framework .
